Your Emotions do not determine the legitimacy of your faith

Hey friend! Ya mind if I type to you for a sec? I just wanted to remind you that your emotions do not determine the legitimacy of your faith. It's okay to feel what you feel. God made us human, which means we have feelings. In my opinion, our emotions are one of the things that make life worth living! Just imagine if we didn't feel.

There would be no butterflies of excitement.
No smiles from ear to ear.
No salty tears rolling down your face while watching your favorite "chick-flick".
No faces red with anger.
No fits of laughter.

Now, you may be thinking "Sis, I love smiling and laughing, but I could live without the tears.I could live without the sadness and anger."

But I think if we didn't know what pain felt like, we wouldn't  appreciate the joy to come later.

Sometimes when I begin to feel sad, or nervous, or angry, along with it I can feel guilty because as Christians we are called to "rejoice in the Lord always" (Philippians 4:4), and be joyful. But bud, let me tell you something. There are going to be times in your walk with the Lord that will be scary, that will be frustrating, and make you want to cry, and that is okay. Even Jesus wept!

In John 11 we read about the resurrection of Lazerus. When Mary tells Jesus that Lazerus is dead, the Bible says Jesus is "deeply moved in his spirit and was deeply troubled," and later says that "Jesus wept".

But, Jesus knew that he would resurrect Lazeres. His mourning did not take away from his faith in God that would enable him to do so. Jesus cries because in life there is sorrow, there is suffering. But we can have hope because that is when God can be glorified.

 It's totally okay to feel your emotions and to process them. That fear, that sorrow, that anger. It does not take away the legitimacy of your faith!

Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 says;

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and time to heal, a time to tear down, a time to build
a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to laugh"

You may be going through a hard season now, and that is okay. There is a time to be sad. And later, there will be a time to rejoice! Your feelings will not take away from the legitimacy of your faith. If anything, they will contribute to your story to bring glory to God.

I love you, and Jesus loves you! Type to ya later...
